"All I wanted to do now was get back to Africa. We had not left it, yet, but when I would wake in the night I would lie, listening, homesick for it already." Ernest Hemingway
My family has been in Africa since the end of the 1890s. Without doubt, the influence of my late father’s deep passion for Africa and its wildlife made my choice of career in the ecotourism industry inevitable. Growing up in the remote north-west of Namibia on the border to Kaokoland, home to a variety of species in a semi-desert environment – including the desert-dwelling elephant, made me realise that I would return after my studies in South Africa to this fascinating wilderness area.
I have been fortunate enough to work in the tourism sector for many years at our own lodges and camps. This, combined with my training as a commercial pilot, has enabled me to take clients on safaris all over Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia. A highlight of my work is definitely the annual safari from Windhoek via Zambia into Tanzania, to witness the great migration of wildebeest in the Serengeti. While all of Africa’s wilderness areas offer rewarding experiences, it is my desire to create an intimate, distinctive safari for you into the remote areas that we are still fortunate to have. Whenever we can, my wife, my two children and I still spend valuable time in the bush, particularly the precious wilderness of north-western Namibia.
Africa is our home.
